Outside hitter Vi Thị Như Quỳnh is likely to take part in the opening round of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship after finalizing her contract with the Hanoi women's volleyball team.
Outside hitter Vi Thị Như Quỳnh is expected to feature in the first round of the championship volleyball of the 2026 National Championship following the completion of her agreement to play with the Hanoi women's volleyball team. All parties have reached a consensus on professional terms and contract conditions, paving the way for the 2001-born spiker to debut with her new team as soon as she returns from competing in Indonesia.
According to the plan, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh will finish her contract in Indonesia by the end of February 2026. Afterwards, she is expected to join the Hanoi women's team to prepare for the domestic season. Returning on time allows this outside hitter to register for the first round of the 2026 National Championship, scheduled from April 6 to April 19 at the Dong Anh Sports Hall in Hanoi.
During the 2025 season, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh was officially part of the Quang Ninh team but was loaned to the Industrial and Commercial Bank team to compete in the national championship. At the end of the season, the Industrial and Commercial Bank team ranked fourth overall.
Conversely, the Quang Ninh team reached the final of the 2025 National A-class tournament but finished as runners-up after losing to Hanoi, thus missing out on promotion.
The contract between Vi Thị Như Quỳnh and Quang Ninh officially ended in late December 2025. Although she once prioritized staying with her former team, the spiker chose to seek a new club to expand her playing opportunities and career development. The Hanoi women's volleyball team, amid restructuring and strengthening their squad, became her next destination.
Previously, representatives of the volleyball department in Hanoi had set a long-term goal to build a squad capable of competing among the top teams in the national championship in the coming seasons. Therefore, the capital's team has been actively recruiting experienced players, with Vi Thị Như Quỳnh considered a fitting addition to their professional strategy.
