The promising display of 20-year-old middle blocker Lê Như Anh in the 2025 SEA Games final might kickstart the youth movement in Vietnam's women's volleyball team in 2026.
In 2026, we will compete in many tournaments, from major events like the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in China and ASIAD 2026 in Japan to lower-level competitions such as the AVC Nations Cup, SEA V.League, and VTV Cup.
With such a busy tournament calendar and considering the current situation of the national women's volleyball team along with the performances of many young players in 2025, Coach Tuấn Kiệt can confidently continue to give playing chances to the "young blood" in the Vietnam women's volleyball team to ensure continuity and succession.
It is very likely that Coach Tuấn Kiệt will keep giving playing opportunities to new faces in the Vietnam women's volleyball team in 2026.
A rather "hot" position in the national women's volleyball team right now is middle blocker, where Nguyễn Thị Trinh (born 1997), after many stable seasons, has started to slow down and somewhat decline due to age, while Lê Thanh Thúy will turn 31 in May 2026.
The ages of Trinh "điện" and Lê Thanh Thúy have created an opening for Lê Như Anh (called up last minute to replace Nguyễn Thị Trinh) to shine when Coach Tuấn Kiệt gave her the chance to play in the 2025 SEA Games women's volleyball final. Her promising debut with the national team at SEA Games 2025 impressed Coach Tuấn Kiệt, and she is expected to continue getting playing time with the national team in 2026.
Two young middle blockers, Nguyễn Phương Quỳnh and Lê Thùy Linh, might also be recalled to the national team after Coach Tuấn Kiệt included them in the preliminary 20-player list preparing for SEA Games 2025.
