The final rankings of Vietnamese volleyball in 2025 have been confirmed.

The year 2025 has been incredibly memorable for our national volleyball.

Since there are no more point-earning tournaments from now until the end of 2025, the final rankings of Vietnam's men's and women's volleyball teams have been officially finalized.

The Vietnamese men's volleyball team finished the 2025 season ranked 60th in the world and 3rd in Southeast Asia, behind Indonesia (ranked 51st) and Thailand (ranked 59th).

At one point this year, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team rose to number 1 in Southeast Asia with a world ranking of 53, but coach Trần Đình Tiền and his team could not maintain this position under strong pressure from Thailand and Indonesia – two very strong regional rivals who faced each other in the final of SEA Games 33.

The match that earned the most points for Vietnam in 2025 was the 3-0 victory on July 10 against Cambodia in the first leg of the SEA V.League, where we gained an additional 7.74 points. Conversely, the loss to the Philippines a day earlier caused Nguyễn Ngọc Thuân and his teammates to lose 8.15 points.

For the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt’s squad closed the season ranked 28th globally, 2nd in Southeast Asia, and 4th in Asia, behind Japan (5th), China (6th), and Thailand (18th).

The highest ranking we achieved this year was 22nd in the world – which is also the highest ranking in history. Although we could not maintain this memorable milestone, the gap between Vietnamese and Thai women's volleyball rankings has never been this close.

The 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei at the AVC Nations Cup brought the most points to the Vietnamese women's team (6.17 points), while the 0-3 loss to Kenya caused a drop of 12.77 points. The historic victory over Thailand in the second leg of the SEA V.League did not earn Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and her teammates any points.

Starting in 2025, AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation) made an important change: integrating the SEA V.League into the point system, creating opportunities for both Vietnamese volleyball teams to make breakthroughs. Especially for the women's team, coach Tuấn Kiệt and his players took full advantage of this chance to advance strongly in the rankings, entering the group of the strongest teams in Asia and the region.
