Stage 1 of the SEA V.League 2026 volleyball tournament will continue to be held in Vietnam.

Vietnam will continue to serve as the host nation for one segment of the SEA V.League 2026 volleyball tournament.

Vietnam will still be the country hosting one stage of the volleyball tournament. SEA V.League 2026. This information was confirmed by Mr. Lê Trí Trường, Secretary General of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, during a discussion on December 22nd.

According to Mr. Lê Trí Trường, Vietnam has retained the hosting rights for one leg of the tournament in 2026. However, it has not yet been decided whether this will be for the men’s or women’s competition. The SEA V.League organizing committee will make an official announcement soon after finalizing the hosting allocation plans among countries in the region.

The SEA V.League is an annual competition for Southeast Asian national volleyball teams, held across multiple stages in different countries. Vietnam began hosting a stage of the tournament starting in 2023. From 2023 to 2025, Vietnam consistently hosted the women’s matches, while the other women’s stage was usually held in Thailand.

However, the hosting structure of the SEA V.League may change starting with the 2026 season. Some countries in the region have expressed interest in hosting women’s stages, making it more likely that Vietnam will switch to hosting a men’s stage compared to previous years.

For the men’s competition, from 2023 to 2025, the Philippines and Indonesia were the countries most frequently granted hosting rights. Expanding hosting opportunities to other countries is seen as an adjustment to balance the chances of organizing the tournament across Southeast Asia.

According to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the specific venue will only be chosen after the SEA V.League organizing committee officially confirms which competition Vietnam will host. SEA V.League At that point, the Federation will select a suitable arena based on facilities, organizational capacity, and ability to meet professional requirements.

In the most recent season, Vietnam hosted a women’s stage of the SEA V.League 2025 in Ninh Binh province. The event was smoothly organized, and the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team won the championship on home soil.

Currently, both the Vietnamese men’s and women’s volleyball teams have completed their training and international competitions for the year following SEA Games 33. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation is developing plans for the 2026 season, including participation in and hosting of SEA V.League events.
