In the final, Sabalenka will face the Ukrainian star Kostyuk, who dominated the start by winning nine consecutive games and defeated the 4th seed Pegula 6-0, 6-3 in just 55 minutes. This marks Kostyuk’s third career appearance in a WTA500 singles final, having finished runner-up in her previous two.
Sabalenka holds a perfect 4-0 record against Kostyuk, though last year’s two matches were fiercely contested. Their upcoming final promises to be thrilling and will begin at 14:00 Beijing time on the afternoon of January 11th.
In the doubles final, top seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Ostapenko cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over third seeds Buksa and Perez to claim the title.
