Vietnam Tennis will host two major international tournaments in 2026.

After a long hiatus, this high-level tournament series is back in Vietnam.

The ATP Challenger Tour, a tier below the ATP Tour, has announced its 2026 schedule. Notably, Vietnam will host two Challenger tournaments this January.

Specifically, the ATP Challenger 50 Phan Thiet will take place from January 19 to 25, and just one week later, likely also at the NovaWorld complex and at the Challenger 50 level, the Phan Thiet 2 tournament will commence (January 26 - February 1), promising to attract highly skilled and promising players.

Earlier, in the last months of 2025, NovaWorld also successfully organized a series of ITF World Tennis Tour events for both men’s and women’s competitions.

This is not only an opportunity for fans to witness high-quality matches from top players but also a golden chance for Vietnamese players to gain valuable experience without incurring heavy travel costs.

In previous years, Vietnam hosted a series of ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments in Tay Ninh and several Challenger Tour events in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City; however, these events were discontinued for various reasons.

This led to Vietnamese players lacking experience in major competitions and facing difficulties in the Davis Cup since Ly Hoang Nam switched to professional pickleball. At the recent 33rd SEA Games, Vietnamese tennis experienced a medal drought at the Southeast Asian Games for the first time since 2015..

After Hoang Nam changed direction, Vu Ha Minh Duc has become the biggest hope for Vietnamese tennis. Over the past two years, Minh Duc has actively competed in Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Spain, and more to accumulate points and finally achieved success at the M15 Kuala Lumpur series at the end of 2025.

It is highly probable that Minh Duc will be granted wild card entries for the two Challenger events in Phan Thiet in 2026 — an excellent chance for the current national champion to prove himself.
