Fans rejoice as U23 Vietnam advances to the quarterfinals of the AFC U23 Asian Cup.

The match between U23 Vietnam and host team U23 Saudi Arabia (held on the evening of January 12) in the final round of Group A at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup ended with a convincing 1-0 victory for the "Golden Star Warriors." Dinh Bac's sole goal (64th minute) secured the best group stage result in Vietnam’s seven appearances in the tournament's history.

At the same time, U23 Jordan won 1-0 against U23 Kyrgyzstan, earning 6 points and finishing second in Group A.

As a result, U23 Vietnam will face the runner-up of Group B (pending the outcome of the match between U23 UAE and U23 Syria at 11:30 PM today, January 13).

Delighted by U23 Vietnam’s victory, Mr. Do Trong Nghia (Tu Liem, Hanoi) shared: "I saw the U23 team play confidently with skill and composure. Earlier, the President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Tran Quoc Tuan, met with and congratulated the U23 Vietnam team on their win over U23 Kyrgyzstan (January 9). Mr. Tran praised the entire team’s spirit and, on behalf of the Executive Committee, awarded Coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad a bonus of 600 million VND. After the opening 2-0 victory against U23 Jordan, the Federation also rewarded the team with 500 million VND.
