With Shanghai achieving a 9-game winning streak, Liaoning suffering a heavy defeat to Guangdong, and Shandong overcoming Tongxi, the latest CBA standings have been released.

On January 12th Beijing time, the 13th round of the CBA regular season began, and several matches finished last night. Jilin fell behind all game and lost 74-82 to Qingdao, Liaoning was utterly defeated 78-108 by Guangdong, Shandong rallied in the last quarter to beat Tongxi 89-76, and Shanghai won 96-81 against Shanxi. Consequently, the updated rankings show Shanghai on a 9-game winning streak securing their spot, Guangdong in second with two consecutive wins, Qingdao fifth, and Liaoning tenth!

Jilin versus Qingdao. This match lacked excitement as Qingdao dominated completely, relentlessly attacking Jilin and steadily increasing the lead. Jilin had no one stepping up, and the game turned into garbage time. In the end, Qingdao comfortably defeated Jilin, earning an easy victory!

Shandong against Tongxi. The first quarter saw both teams struggling with poor shooting, resulting in a close battle with Shandong leading by three points. In the second quarter, Shandong’s offense exploded, scoring 33-22 and pulling ahead by double digits. In the second half, Shandong kept pressing and extended their lead further. Although Tongxi launched a strong comeback in the final quarter, Shandong quickly regained control and crushed their opponents with ease!

Liaoning versus Guangdong. As two CBA powerhouses, this Liaoning-Guangdong clash was highly anticipated. However, the game lacked intensity as Liaoning’s performance dropped drastically, unable to match Guangdong’s strength. The match quickly turned one-sided, with Guangdong launching a fierce offense that left Liaoning disoriented. Ultimately, Guangdong secured a commanding 30-point victory, winning with overwhelming dominance and seeming effortless!

Shanghai played Shanxi. Shanghai has been in blazing form this season, briefly topping the standings and riding an 8-game winning streak. Facing last season’s dark horse Shanxi this round, Shanghai started strong in the first quarter, scoring 27-17. The following quarters turned into a back-and-forth battle with Shanxi’s offense gradually closing the gap, trailing by only 4 points after three quarters. In the final quarter, Shanxi’s offense stalled again, allowing Shanghai to launch a scoring surge and pull away. Thus, Shanghai cruised to an easy win over Shanxi, extending their streak to 9 games and firmly holding first place!
