Manchester United insider explains the reason behind Amolin's dismissal: a broken mentality demanded a change! Two candidates compete for the interim coach position.

According to "Jingji Net," Manchester United CEO Omar Berada and Sporting Director Jason Wilcox convened a meeting with the players following Ruben Amolin's departure. Wilcox told those present that he was equally shocked by the events of the past two days. He emphasized that the club had fulfilled Amolin's demands, but the latter clearly expressed his intention to leave.

“We also don’t understand what happened in the last 48 hours!” Wilcox explained to the Manchester United players that it was Amolin who changed, his mindset collapsed, and the club had no choice but to act.

The British Daily Mail revealed that after Amolin’s dramatic dismissal, he is preparing to move out of his £1.2 million luxury villa in Cheshire and return to Portugal with his wife Maria João Diogo.

Meanwhile, at Manchester United’s Carrington training center, captain Bruno Fernandes and Mount have already resumed regular training. Two days after Amolin’s departure, the Red Devils’ training atmosphere was described as very positive. Although more than ten players bid farewell to Amolin on social media, this did not stop them from continuing to fight to keep their places at Manchester United, as such lucrative contracts are rare elsewhere.

Current interim Manchester United coach Fletcher stated that although taking over the team was unfortunate, he is proud to lead the Red Devils.

Regarding the possibility of coaching Manchester United for a longer period, Fletcher said, “I’m focusing on the match first, and we’ll talk afterward. Everything on Monday happened so fast — preparing for the game, quickly adjusting, organizing training, and communicating with players. The priority now is the Burnley match. I believe the team should give this game the attention and focus it deserves to be ready in such a short time.”

So, does Fletcher have the desire to coach for a longer term? He replied, “Honestly, I haven’t thought about that at all. I’m concentrating on the Burnley game, and other discussions will come later. Everything happened so quickly, so all my focus is on Burnley. I know it sounds like a cliché, but that’s the truth.”

According to the British Daily Mail, Manchester United’s top management has negotiated with four club legends about the interim coaching role. Candidates include Solskjaer, Carrick, Van Nistelrooy, and Fletcher himself. Rumors say Van Nistelrooy has withdrawn, Fletcher’s chances are slim, leaving Solskjaer and Carrick as the final contenders.

Both Solskjaer and Carrick have served as Manchester United interim managers. Solskjaer took over in December 2018, stepping in for Mourinho and succeeded, earning a permanent role and coaching for nearly three years. Ironically, when Solskjaer was dismissed in November 2021, Carrick, then his assistant, temporarily managed three games.

The 52-year-old Norwegian has been unemployed since being dismissed by Besiktas in August. On Tuesday, he was spotted shopping near his Cheshire home. Personal terms with Manchester United are not an issue, and negotiations with his agent Jim Solbakken are progressing well, making him the favored candidate.

Carrick has been out of work since leaving Championship side Middlesbrough last June and occasionally works as a commentator. It is reported that Manchester United is seriously considering hiring the 44-year-old former England midfielder. Unlike Solskjaer, who was a permanent manager and was dismissed, Carrick has yet to fail as a manager at Manchester United.

Currently, the competition for Manchester United’s interim head coach seems to have narrowed down to Solskjaer and Carrick. Sir Alex Ferguson may have already given his opinion; the 84-year-old returned to the Carrington training ground on Tuesday to have coffee with Berada and Wilcox.
