Just awarded Vietnam’s Best Player, Hoàng Đức heads to Singapore for matches

Hoàng Đức and his teammates from Ninh Bình Club are set to go to Singapore for a friendly tour in the near future.

On the morning of January 4, 2026, Ninh Bình FC embarked on their first overseas trip of the year to Singapore for training and friendly matches against Lion City Sailors and Albirex Niigata clubs. These two friendly games with Singaporean teams offer a valuable opportunity for coach Gerard Albadalejo and his squad to test tactics, lineups, and build competitive resilience ahead of upcoming crucial matches.

The most notable member of Ninh Bình FC’s squad at the moment is obviously Hoàng Đức, the player recently honored with the 2025 Vietnam Best Player award and this marks the third time in his career he has received this prestigious title. Additionally, the Most Popular Vietnamese Player award for 2025 went to Nguyễn Hoàng Đức (Ninh Bình Club), who garnered 2,045 votes from fans.

While Đình Bắc stands out for achievements with Vietnam U23 such as winning the Southeast Asian U23 Championship and SEA Games 33 gold medal, Hoàng Đức’s victory is attributed to his remarkably consistent performance at club level. Hoàng Đức single-handedly led Ninh Bình to win the First Division and is currently topping the V-League this season.

Currently, Ninh Bình Club holds the historic record in Asian football after extending their unbeaten streak in official matches to 36 games. This impressive feat was achieved following a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against Hải Phòng at Lạch Tray Stadium during the Round of 16 of the 2025/26 National Cup.

However, in the V-League, Ninh Bình faces the risk of losing their top position. After 11 rounds, Hoàng Đức and his teammates remain unbeaten (8 wins, 3 draws), but they are closely pursued by Công an Hà Nội FC, who are only one point behind and have played one less match.

Recently, Ninh Bình Club also welcomed two highly promising new players: defender Hoàng Thái Bình from Thanh Hóa and the star signing Trương Tiến Anh from Viettel. These additions will be extremely valuable reinforcements for Ninh Bình in the second half of the season.
