Mitchell Dijks attracted attention by revealing his salary in the V-League is higher than what he earned in Europe, and he receives it fully without any tax deductions while playing for Nam Dinh.
Former Ajax defender Mitchell Dijks recently grabbed attention by openly sharing the outstanding income he is earning after moving to play in Vietnam. According to GSIO News, Dijks confirmed that his salary in the V-League is even higher than what he used to get at Fortuna Sittard (Netherlands).
Specifically, Mitchell Dijks stated that while playing in Vietnam, he enjoys a salary that is not subject to personal income tax deductions. This key factor quickly led him to decide to join Nam Dinh Club, where he signed a contract lasting until summer 2027.
Speaking frankly, Dijks said: “In Vietnam, I earn more money than when I was at Fortuna Sittard. And here, the salary is the net amount. I received a direct offer and immediately asked: how much tax will be deducted? The answer was none. At that moment, I thought, I will sign the contract. Basically, I can live very comfortably and even don’t need to touch my savings.”
These statements quickly sparked widespread interest in the regional media, especially as more and more players who previously competed in Europe choose the V-League as their next career destination. Beyond professional factors, a stable living environment and attractive benefits policies are making Vietnamese clubs more competitive in the international transfer market.
Mitchell Dijks’ situation is seen as clear evidence of the growing attraction of Vietnamese football. The fact that a player who has competed in European leagues is willing to admit that his income in the V-League is superior shows a significant change in how Vietnamese clubs invest and operate.
With a contract running until 2027 at Nam Dinh, Mitchell Dijks is expected not only to bring professional value but also to help elevate the image and status of the V-League in the eyes of foreign players.
