The Lao Football Federation officially made a decision regarding two South Korean coaches.

After coach Ha Hyeok Jun, the Lao Football Federation likewise said goodbye to the head coach of the women's national team, who is South Korean.

The Lao Football Federation has just issued an official announcement about the departure of Mr. Jong Song Chon, the head coach of the national women's team and the U20 women's team. In 2025, under the leadership of the Korean coach, both the senior and U20 women's teams of Laos have yet to achieve any notable success despite high expectations.

At the senior national team level, the Lao women's team failed to advance past the qualifiers to participate in the 2025 AFF Women's Championship. A similar situation occurred in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, where Laos lost to Nepal and Uzbekistan, only defeated Sri Lanka, and ultimately did not qualify for the final tournament. At the U20 women's level, coach Jong Song Chon was also unable to lead Laos past the Asian U20 qualifiers.

Thus, on the same day, the Lao Football Federation parted ways with two head coaches of the national teams, both of whom are South Korean strategists. Earlier, the Lao Football Federation also announced the termination of the contract with Ha Hyeok Jun, who had been in charge of leading the Lao senior and U22/U23 teams for nearly one and a half years.

Since taking office in August 2024, coach Ha Hyeok Jun brought a fresh energy to Lao football. During his 1 year and 4 months tenure, the Korean strategist left a strong impression by applying modern training methods that emphasized discipline and science.
