Vietnamese diaspora defender of the Vietnam national team returns to France

Defender Cao Pendant Quang Vinh takes the opportunity to visit his hometown in France during a break from playing with CAHN club.

On his personal social media, the 1997-born defender of Hanoi Police FC shared moments at the Eiffel Tower — a famous landmark in France. The Vietnamese diaspora player returned home during his rest period, when he was not required to play for CAHN.

Jason Pendant Quang Vinh was born in Sarcelles, France. His father is of Martinique French descent, and his mother is Vietnamese. After years playing in France and the US, he returned to Vietnam and joined CAHN club in August 2024.

The year 2025 marked a memorable year for the French-Vietnamese player as he officially obtained Vietnamese citizenship in March 2025. By June, he was called up to the Vietnam national team for the first time and started in the match against Malaysia on June 10, 2025, during the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

In 2025, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh made 4 appearances for the Vietnam national team starting all 4 matches and playing approximately 356 minutes. Meanwhile, at CAHN, Quang Vinh featured in 18 matches across all competitions in the 2025/26 season, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. He is currently the number one left-back not only for CAHN but also for the Vietnam national team, with few able to replace him at this time.

According to the schedule, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh will have about a month off before returning to action with the police club in February. Specifically, on February 1st, CAHN will host Ninh Binh in their first domestic match of 2026 at Hang Day Stadium. Besides the V-League, CAHN will also prepare for the ACL Two round of 16 against Singapore’s Tampines Rovers.
