The whole Vietnam U23 squad wishes all Vietnamese fans a healthy and prosperous New Year.
From distant Qatar, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu, along with Coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam U23 team, sent New Year 2026 wishes to fans and Vietnamese citizens.
Vice President Tran Anh Tu shared: "On the occasion of the New Year, on behalf of VFF, I wish all Vietnamese fans good health, peace, and prosperity. The national U23 team’s participation in the Asian Championship finals marks the beginning for all teams in 2026. I hope the Vietnam U23 team will perform excellently in this Asian tournament."
Meanwhile, Coach Kim Sang Sik enthusiastically conveyed: "Happy New Year! Go Vietnam!"
Players like Dinh Bac, Trung Kien, Cong Phuong, Hieu Minh, Xuan Bac, Nhat Minh, Vi Hao, Nguyen Tan, Quoc Viet... also wished for a victorious new year, good health, all the best, and success.
The year 2025 was an extremely memorable year for Vietnamese football in general and the Vietnam U23 team specifically, as they secured two consecutive championships. In July 2025, Coach Kim’s team defeated Indonesia to win the Southeast Asian U23 Championship for the third consecutive time. In December, Dinh Bac and his teammates continued their success by defeating Thailand on their home turf to claim the gold medal at SEA Games 33. Prior to that, the team also achieved three straight wins in the U23 Asian qualifiers to secure a spot in the U23 Asian Championship finals.
At the 2026 U23 Asian Championship finals starting from January 6, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team is determined to advance, aiming first to reach the quarterfinals.
In the group stage, Vietnam U23 will face Jordan U23 on January 6, Kyrgyzstan U23 on January 9, and host Saudi Arabia U23 on January 12.
