The players of the U23 Vietnam team who won the SEA Games 33 gold medal presented a meaningful gift to midfielder Nguyễn Văn Trường, who missed the tournament due to injury.
On his personal page, midfielder Nguyễn Văn Trường just shared a touching moment when he received a gift from 23 teammates of the national team U22 Vietnam just secured the SEA Games gold medal. Accordingly, Đình Bắc represented the entire team to give a small present to his senior after their Southeast Asian triumph.
Văn Trường is one of the key pillars of the U22/U23 Vietnam team under coach Kim Sang Sik. In 2025, Văn Trường participated twice in the Panda Cup, helped U23 Vietnam win the U23 Southeast Asia championship, and took part in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. In these tournaments, the Hanoi FC player was indispensable in the central midfield role, known for his sharp and effective ball distribution and recovery skills.
Nevertheless, Văn Trường had to miss the final SEA Games of his career in a deeply unfortunate way. Specifically, during the training camp preparing for SEA Games 33 in November, the 2003-born midfielder suffered an injury with an anterior cruciate ligament tear and damage to other ligaments in his right knee, requiring surgery and an expected 8-month recovery, thus missing the Southeast Asian Games. Moreover, Văn Trường will also miss the 2026 U23 Asian Championship finals in Saudi Arabia next January.
The gift from his U23 Vietnam teammates holds not only material value but also serves as a great morale boost for Văn Trường during his recovery and return to the field. This also reflects the strong, close-knit bond among the players, aiming for a comprehensive development of Vietnamese football’s future.
