Forward Nguyễn Đình Bắc together with U23 Vietnam received accolades in the 2025 National Best Coach and Athlete selection.
Recently, the organizers of the 2025 National Outstanding Athletes and Coaches Awards officially announced the list of results.
Accordingly, Trịnh Thu Vinh surpassed strong competitors to become the most outstanding athlete of 2025. The shooter from Thanh Hóa earned 1,272 votes, which was not surprising given her highly successful SEA Games 33 performance with 4 gold medals and 3 new records.
Right behind her was Nguyễn Thị Oanh (761 points), the runner who maintained excellent form at SEA Games 33 by winning 3 gold medals and breaking the record as Vietnam’s most decorated athlete in the history of the Southeast Asian Games athletics events.
Meanwhile, young forward Nguyễn Đình Bắc ranked third with 693 votes. The 2004-born star had a very successful year with CAHN, especially representing U23 Vietnam.
Đình Bắc stood out at the 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship, earning the title of best player of the tournament. He continued this form at SEA Games 33, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists, playing a crucial role in helping Vietnam win their third gold medal in SEA Games history. Due to these remarkable contributions, Đình Bắc was honored with the Vietnam Silver Ball Award 2025, and was also named the Best Male Young Player of 2025.
In the Best Coach category, Coach Kim Sang Sik was unrivaled after a highly successful 2025 with Vietnamese football. The Korean strategist led the Vietnam national team to win the 2024 AFF Cup, the 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship, and gold at SEA Games 33, earning 532 votes. Meanwhile, Coach Trần Quốc Cường also scored highly after guiding the Vietnamese shooting team to gold medals at the 2025 Asian Cup and 2025 Southeast Asian Games, placing second.
In the Best National Sports Team category for 2025, the U22 Vietnam men’s football team topped the list with 1,660 points, thanks to their championships at the 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship and SEA Games 33. Following them was the national women’s 4x400m relay team with 635 points. Both the women’s sepak takraw team and the women’s beach handball team shared third place with 560 points each.
