Stepping onto the continental stage with strong determination, CAHN Club aims to make a memorable mark, viewing positive early-year results as a gift for Vietnamese supporters.
Hanoi Police Club has made a notable impression as the sole representative of Vietnamese football to reach the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/2026. This achievement not only affirms the collective effort of the police football teambut also opens a challenging journey in the early part of the new year, with a schedule that extends throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the draw, coach Polking’s team will face Tampines Rovers FC from Singapore. The first leg will be held at Hang Day Stadium on the evening of February 11, before CAHN travels to Singapore for the second leg on February 18. Notably, the second leg falls on the second day of Tet, forcing many key players to spend the New Year away from their families.
This means that players like Quang Hải, Đình Bắc, and their teammates will experience a very different Tet season. The usual reunion atmosphere will be replaced by intense training and competition. Nevertheless, the entire team remains professional and ready to sacrifice personal interests to aim for deep progress in the continental competition.
Ahead of these two crucial matches, CAHN Club has also clearly affirmed its determination. The team emphasized: “As the seasons change, Hanoi Police FC is entering one of the most important rounds of this year’s continental campaign. Hosting Tampines Rovers FC at Hang Day Stadium during the year-end days, and traveling to Singapore right on the second day of Tet, the Hanoi Police FC squad is determined to perform at their best to bring joy to the fans. Victory is the most valuable New Year gift!”
Not only in the AFC Champions League Two, CAHN is also one of the rare Vietnamese teams competing simultaneously on multiple fronts. On January 28, they will visit Selangor in the Shopee Cup 2025/26, before returning to the V.League to face the top-ranked Ninh Bình on February 1, a key match in the championship race.
Furthermore, CAHN’s schedule remains compressed with a match against Tampines in the Shopee Cup, followed by an away game against Đà Nẵng in the V.League on the evening of February 9. The dense match schedule poses a major challenge regarding fitness, squad rotation, and resilience for coach Polking’s team.
In this context, the two matches against Tampines in the AFC Champions League Two are seen as a significant challenge but also an opportunity for CAHN to assert its position. Spending Tet away from home may be a considerable sacrifice, but if it results in a ticket to the continental quarterfinals, it will be a worthy reward for the police club’s ambitions.
