The Belfast Telegraph confirms that an English forward is very likely to move to Vietnam to join Hanoi FC.
According to the report from Belfast Telegraph, striker David Fisher from Glentoran is considering the possibility of moving to Vietnam to join Hanoi FC.
The reason given is that the English forward, born in 2001, favors the chance to reunite with his former coach Warren Feeney, who is currently serving as assistant to head coach Harry Kewell. Warren Feeney joined the capital club last October, after Kewell was appointed head coach at Hang Day Stadium.
As for Fisher, the 24-year-old player is no longer the first choice in the attack, ranking behind Pat Hoban and Jordan Jenkins at BetMcLean Oval, and is expected to leave Glentoran during the January transfer window.
David Fisher has an English father, a Czech mother, and has previously played for AFC Wimbledon, Hampton & Richmond, and currently Glentoran, a Northern Ireland club.
Since making his debut for Glentoran in 2023, Fisher has appeared 87 times, scoring 24 goals and providing 9 assists. He can play in almost all attacking positions (left wing, right wing, or attacking midfield), demonstrating versatility in his playing style. The player born in 2001 is currently valued by Transfermarkt at 125,000 Euros (approximately nearly 4 billion VND).
Currently, Fisher still has nearly 2 years left on his contract with Glentoran (until May 31, 2027). This means that if Hanoi FC wants to secure the English striker's services, they will likely have to pay a transfer fee to release him. Alternatively, Glentoran might agree to let him go on a free transfer, as his chances of competing for a spot in the current squad are limited.
