Supporters of the Red Devils have shown extreme anger over the recent poor performance of their beloved team, as they have dropped 7 points in the last 4 matches.
As the match began, Man United was rated significantly higher than Wolves, who sit at the bottom of the table with only two points so far. In fact, the Old Trafford side started stronger and took the lead in the 26th minute thanks to Joshua Zirkzee. However, that advantage was short-lived. Just before halftime, Ladislav Krejci capitalized on a chaotic moment inside the box to score an equalizer, securing a valuable point for Wolves.
After the match, most criticism was directed at coach Ruben Amorim, who was blamed for complicating the team’s situation with a puzzling tactical choice. Before kickoff, many fans expected Man United to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation that showed promise against Newcastle. Instead, Amorim reverted to his usual three-center-back setup, which made the Red Devils’ play sluggish, predictable, and easy to counter.
Although Man United pressed hard in the second half, especially with Patrick Dorgu’s goal at the 90th minute disallowed for a very close offside, overall the home team delivered a lackluster and unconvincing performance. Old Trafford echoed with boos once again, clearly expressing the fans’ disappointment. On social media, supporters showed deep frustration with the Portuguese coach.
It’s undeniable that Man United entered the match with a severely weakened squad. Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, and Noussair Mazraoui were all sidelined due to injuries, while Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo were away on African Cup of Nations duty. This forced Amorim to give opportunities to many young players, including Jack Fletcher starting and 17-year-old Bendito Mantato coming off the bench.
Additionally, during the match Amorim faced jeers from Man United fans for a questionable substitution at the 75th minute. When MU desperately needed a goal, the Portuguese coach replaced one center-back, Heaven, with another center-back, Yoro.
However, in the eyes of the fans, the lack of manpower cannot justify such a dull performance against a weak opponent like Wolves. A thin bench, overly cautious game approach, and rigid tactics led Man United to share points in their final home game of 2025.
