The footage showed Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta celebrating with his coaching team and then trying to locate fellow coach Unai Emery, but he could not find him.
According to eyewitnesses at the stadium, after the match Arteta went looking for Unai Emery to shake hands but couldn’t find him. It seems Emery headed straight down the tunnel right after the final whistle, leaving the Basque compatriot unable to meet him. The initial reason is unclear, but it appears Emery could not bear the Aston Villa lost 1-4 to Arsenal in round 19 of the Premier League.
A 4-1 scoreline was something no Arsenal fan expected when hosting top-table rivals Aston Villa at Emirates. However, Arsenal ensured they would finish 2025 at the top of the league regardless of Manchester City's result against Sunderland in round 19. In this match, defender Gabriel shone and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s win over Villa.
After receiving the Man of the Match award, Gabriel said: "I always want to contribute more to the team. Today, I’m even happier to be back. The victory over Aston Villa was a great day’s work for all of us. I’m very pleased, but there are still many challenges ahead and we must keep pushing forward."
Meanwhile, forward Gabriel Jesus came on as a substitute and scored a beautiful goal just one minute after replacing Viktor Gyokeres. The Brazilian star admitted he was very happy: "Facing Aston Villa is always tough because they play very disciplined and tactically. This club has come here many times and caused us trouble. Even at the start, they nearly scored, and sometimes they know how to delay the game to stop Arsenal from increasing the tempo.
But today, Arsenal had the mental strength to secure the win, and that’s why we succeeded. Moreover, we had Gabriel on the field, and our defense was noticeably different. Gabriel was excellent defensively and also enjoys scoring goals."
