Chelsea disappointed by drawing with Bournemouth at home in the 19th round of this Premier League season.
Early this morning (31/12), Chelsea played their final match of 2025 against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Maresca’s team was expected to take all three points but Bournemouth stunned Chelsea in the 6th minute when David Brooks scored the opener.
From a troublesome throw-in by the visitors, the ball was sent into Chelsea’s penalty box. Chelsea’s defense was confused dealing with the aerial ball. David Brooks made a close-range flick header unmarked. Goalkeeper Sanchez managed to parry the ball, but Brooks quickly followed up to score the rebound, giving Bournemouth the lead.

After conceding, Chelsea pressed forward. Estevao skillfully dribbled between two defenders and entered the penalty area with a clever move before being clumsily fouled by Antoine Semenyo. After a lengthy VAR check on the sideline, the referee awarded Chelsea a penalty. Palmer stepped up and successfully converted to equalize at 1-1 in the 15th minute for Maresca’s side.
