The Vietnam national team rookie impresses with proficiency in both feet

Khổng Minh Gia Bảo showcases the caliber of a Vietnam national team central defender while practicing with his home club.

Although it was just a regular training match for Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club, the performance of center-back Khổng Minh Gia Bảo revealed his determination, earning approval from the coaching staff.

Born in 2000, Khổng Minh Gia Bảo plays as a center-back. Despite not having an ideal height, Gia Bảo reads the game well. Wearing jersey number 13, he is meticulous with every touch during practice. Even though it was a routine training session, Gia Bảo consistently showed his commitment and fiery spirit in every play. His aggressive style brought motivation and energy to his teammates on the field.

In a recent friendly match, Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club won 5-0 against Đồng Tháp, with Gia Bảo entering in the second half. Gia Bảo and Matheus effectively shut down all efforts from the Sen Hong team, helping the forwards play with confidence.

Based on Gia Bảo’s on-field performance, he received the nod from the coaching staff of Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club.

Born in 2000, Khổng Minh Gia Bảo is regarded as a center-back with strong marking and physicality, excellent stamina, and the ability to use both feet skillfully. Developed at the People's Public Security Club, then played for Phù Đổng Ninh Bình before joining Quảng Nam Club, and later transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Police in August 2025. Gia Bảo has represented Vietnam U20 and is considered one of the promising young defenders currently performing well in Vietnamese football.

Khổng Minh Gia Bảo is an indispensable pillar and one of the players with the most playing minutes for Ho Chi Minh City Police at present. The 2000-born center-back started 9 out of 10 V-League matches this season, playing the full 90 minutes in 8 games. The only match he missed was due to suspension after accumulating three yellow cards.
