Muangthong United has officially signed South Korean center-back Kim Dong Su for the second phase of the 2025–2026 Thai League season, bolstering the “Red Unicorns” defensive line with his experience and power.
Muangthong United (Thailand) has just announced its first foreign player signing for the second half of the 2025–2026 Thai League, securing the services of South Korean defender Kim Dong Sua seasoned player with experience in Germany, Japan, and Vietnam.
The 30-year-old center-back stands 1.89 meters tall, known for his physical strength, stamina, and leadership skills on the defense. He developed through Hamburger SV’s youth academy (Germany), played for their U19 team before moving to Japan’s J-League with Omiya Ardija.
Besides competing in Europe and Japan, Kim Dong Su is also familiar to Southeast Asian fans. He previously played in the V.League for Hoang Anh Gia Lai and SHB Da Nang, and faced many Asian giants like Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (South Korea) and Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan) in the AFC Champions League.
His extensive experience and excellent game reading are expected to make Kim Dong Su a reliable defensive anchor for Muangthong United in the remainder of the season. He officially signed with the “Red Unicorns” on December 29, 2025.
At his unveiling, Kim Dong Su affirmed his commitment to give his all to repay the trust of the club and fans: “I promise to give 100% effort every minute on the pitch. That’s who I am. I hope the supporters will continue to back me just as they have supported previous Korean players at Muangthong United.”
