CAHN received encouraging news regarding their adversary in the Round of 16 of the AFC Cup 2 Asia Eastern Zone.
The draw ceremony for the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 knockout stage has just taken place. All 8 matches in the Round of 16 promise to be very exciting, with every team aiming to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time. CAHN is the sole representative from Vietnam in this stage.
According to the draw results: The group H winner, Tampines Rovers from Singapore, will face the group E runner-up, Hanoi Police FC of Vietnam, with both sides confident in their chances. Tampines topped their group, surpassing former Asian champions Pohang, while Hanoi trailed Macarthur by 5 points.
Compared to other group leaders, drawing a Southeast Asian team is quite fortunate for CAHN, especially since Singapore’s football level is not very strong. This presents a good opportunity for CAHN to advance further in the AFC Cup 2 Asia. The first leg will be held at Hang Day Stadium, while the second leg will see CAHN play away in Singapore.
In other matchups, Macarthur FC will compete against Thailand’s Bangkok United. The Australian club topped group E with 4 wins and 1 draw. Bangkok United finished second in group G with 10 points. The tournament will conclude with a single final match between the West and East zones on May 16, 2026.
