Bac Dinh, Quang Hai receives great news in the AFC Cup 2 Asia

CAHN received encouraging news regarding their adversary in the Round of 16 of the AFC Cup 2 Asia Eastern Zone.

The draw ceremony for the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 knockout stage has just taken place. All 8 matches in the Round of 16 promise to be very exciting, with every team aiming to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time. CAHN is the sole representative from Vietnam in this stage.

According to the draw results: The group H winner, Tampines Rovers from Singapore, will face the group E runner-up, Hanoi Police FC of Vietnam, with both sides confident in their chances. Tampines topped their group, surpassing former Asian champions Pohang, while Hanoi trailed Macarthur by 5 points.

Compared to other group leaders, drawing a Southeast Asian team is quite fortunate for CAHN, especially since Singapore’s football level is not very strong. This presents a good opportunity for CAHN to advance further in the AFC Cup 2 Asia. The first leg will be held at Hang Day Stadium, while the second leg will see CAHN play away in Singapore.

In other matchups, Macarthur FC will compete against Thailand’s Bangkok United. The Australian club topped group E with 4 wins and 1 draw. Bangkok United finished second in group G with 10 points. Gamba Osaka is confident facing FC Pohang Steelers; the Japanese team advanced with a perfect record in group F.

Meanwhile, Pohang from South Korea placed second in group H with 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. Persib Bandung overcame a tough group G stage, and the Indonesian club will be determined against Ratchaburi FC. Persib led their group with 13 points, while Ratchaburi from Thailand earned 9 points.

The Round of 16 is scheduled for February 2026 (West Zone: 10-11, 17-18; East Zone: 11-12, 18-19), followed by quarterfinals in March (West Zone: 3-4, 10-11; East Zone: 4-5, 11-12) and semifinals in April (West Zone: 7 and 14; East Zone: 8 and 15). The tournament will conclude with a single final match between the West and East zones on May 16, 2026.
