2025 National Women's Futsal Championship: Thai Son Nam and Ho Chi Minh City Secure Wins on Opening Day

On the afternoon of December 29, the 2025 National Women's Futsal Championship officially kicked off with two exciting and intense matches held at the Chanh Hung Ward Futsal Club Arena (Ho Chi Minh City).

In the opening match, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City took advantage of their home ground to start proactively against Phong Phu Ha Nam. The home team quickly dominated the game and scored the opening goal early. In the 2nd minute, Thanh Ngan seized the opportunity with a precise shot, putting Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City ahead.

The early concession forced Phong Phu Ha Nam to push forward. From the middle of the first half, the northern representative gradually regained balance, organized tight defense, and launched more effective counterattacks. In the 13th minute, from a right-side throw-in by Lan Mai, Cao Thi Linh rose to head the ball and equalize at 1-1. The remaining minutes of the half were fiercely contested, with both teams creating dangerous chances but failing to convert, ending the first half in a draw.

In the second half, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City increased their pressure, constantly pressing their opponents. In the 24th minute, Ngoc Han received a pass from Thanh Hang and unleashed a decisive shot, but the ball hit the post, much to the home team's disappointment.

After persistent efforts, in the 37th minute, from a set-piece, Bui Thi Trang skillfully maneuvered inside the penalty area and finished accurately within six meters, putting Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City ahead 2-1. In the 38th minute, Phong Phu Ha Nam employed a power-play strategy to seek an equalizer but lost possession, allowing Thanh Ngan to complete her brace with an empty-net goal, confirming a 3-1 win for Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City.

In the earlier match, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club faced Hanoi. Thuy Trang and her teammates started poorly, allowing the opponents to apply significant pressure. However, the game gradually balanced out, and neither side could break through the other's defense for most of the match.

In the latter part of the second half, Kieu Diem scored the opening goal for Hanoi. Nevertheless, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club quickly responded with an equalizer less than a minute later. Before the match ended, Hoang Thi Nuong scored in the 35th minute, securing a 2-1 victory for Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club.
