The lingering effects of the Kylian Mbappe case continue, with PSG refusing all offers from Real Madrid to negotiate.
In recent days, Real Madrid has been actively linked with midfielders, especially as Xabi Alonso recognizes clear gaps in the squad along with an urgent need for leadership in the midfield area.
Initially, filling this gap seemed manageable. However, after the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, the lack of experience and leadership within Real Madrid’s lineup became very apparent. Therefore, the Royal Club is searching for a seasoned midfielder to restore balance.
In this context, PSG’s Vitinha appears as a dream target for Real Madrid, although from the start, this deal was considered extremely complicated due to financial reasons. However, this is not the only obstacle for the transfer.
According to Defensa Central, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is the biggest barrier between Real Madrid and Vitinha, and he will do everything in his power to stop the midfielder from joining the “Los Blancos.”
In fact, Vitinha’s contract includes a release clause worth 90 million euros – a clause Real Madrid planned to activate if they secured significant funds from a major departure, such as Vinicius Jr.
However, Nasser Al-Khelaifi refuses to sit down at the negotiating table with President Florentino Perez regarding any deal, a direct consequence of the previous Kylian Mbappe case. The PSG president is reportedly very upset with how Florentino Perez and Real Madrid handled the Mbappe transfer, thus deciding not to cooperate further.
This decision is considered final and binding, with little chance of change under any circumstances.
At present, everything depends on Vitinha himself, as he will make the ultimate decision. With the contract valid until 2029, the possibility of negotiations between the two clubs is almost nonexistent in the current context, while the 90 million euro release clause still seems beyond Real Madrid’s financial reach at this time.
Returning to the Mbappe case, Real Madrid is believed to have orchestrated behind the scenes to enable Mbappe’s free transfer from PSG. PSG panicked trying to sell Mbappe in the final contract year, but he rejected all offers from the Middle East, escalating tensions between the two parties to unprecedented levels.
After the 2023/24 season, Mbappe left PSG on a free transfer and joined Real Madrid. This marked a turning point that led PSG, especially President Al-Khelaifi, to almost completely sever relations with Real Madrid.
