After officially securing the 2025 Vietnam Golden Ball, midfielder Nguyễn Hoàng Đức couldn’t hide his emotions reflecting on a year full of ups and downs that ended on a perfect note.
On the final Sunday evening of 2025 (December 28), Hoàng Đức posted a lengthy status on his personal page, summarizing his journey so far. The 1998-born midfielder admitted that 2025 began with many challenges, but his resilience and the support of his team helped him close the year with well-deserved happiness.
Hoàng Đức shared: “The year started with numerous challenges, but fortunately ended with complete joy. Football is fundamentally a team sport, and every accolade earned carries the mark of teammates, coaches, and those who have always supported from behind.”
At the club level, Hoàng Đức is the core of Ninh Bình FC’s playing style. He played a crucial role in helping the team remain unbeaten in the First Division, securing promotion to the V.League. He wrote: “I’m very happy to have experienced an unforgettable unbeaten journey with Ninh Bình FC. Every match tells a story, and every moment on the pitch leaves unforgettable emotions.”
The 2025 Vietnam Golden Ball award is considered a well-earned reward for Hoàng Đức’s persistent efforts throughout the year. Despite fierce competition from emerging talents like Đình Bắc, experts still highly value the stability, experience, and influence of the 1998-born midfielder.
Although he has reached personal glory, Hoàng Đức’s greatest concern remains the national team. In his status, he emphasized his desire to fight alongside Vietnam for a spot at the 2027 Asian Cup. The midfielder expressed: “I’m also proud to be part of the Vietnamese team fighting for a place in the Asian Cup, a tournament I missed twice before.”
With the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers still uncertain, hope is rising for Vietnam, especially as the final decision from the AFC regarding direct competitors is awaited. If the door opens, Hoàng Đức and his teammates will have a great chance to realize their dream of returning to the continental stage.
