Lamine Yamal took center stage at the Globe Soccer Awards, securing three major personal awards.
On the night of December 28, the Globe Soccer Awards 2025 ceremony was held in Dubai. Lamine Yamal, the world’s best teenage footballer, once again became the focus by clinching three distinguished individual awards.
Specifically, Yamal was recognized in the categories of Best Under-23 Player in La Liga, Best Forward of the Year and the prestigious Maradona Award which is given for exceptional footballing talent. This achievement is a well-deserved reward for Yamal after a successful season with Barcelona.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Yamal said: "Last year I was still a rookie promoted to the first team, but this year I have had to face the pressure of being a top star both at the club and national team level".
“It’s best not to compare yourself with anyone else,”Yamal stated upon receiving the Best Forward award. “Players like Cristiano Ronaldo achieved what they wanted because they stayed true to themselves, not by comparing to others. I want to carve out my own path.”
Despite winning many top individual awards, Yamal finished runner-up for the third consecutive time to Osumane Dembele in the most prestigious award, the 2025 World’s Best Player. The PSG star was honored again after a historic season with the French club. Previously, Dembele also bested Yamal for the 2025 European Golden Ball and FIFA The Best awards.
Not only Yamal, but the entire Barcelona team also enjoyed a fruitful year at the Globe Soccer Awards following their dominance in the 2024/25 Spanish football season. Raphinha won Best Player in La Liga, and Hansi Flick was named Best Coach in La Liga.
Aitana Bonmati received the Best Female Player award. Meanwhile, Barcelona was honored as the Best Spanish Team of 2025.
Not only Dembele and Yamal, Cristiano Ronaldo consistently shines on major stages. The Portuguese superstar was awarded Best Middle Eastern Player for the third consecutive time, confirming his unrivaled status and immense influence in the region.
