Cristiano Ronaldo accomplished an unmatched feat with his two goals against Al Akhdoud.
According to Argentine journalist Pablo Giralt on social media platform X, after completing the brace in Al Nassr's victory over Al Akhdoud, Cristiano Ronaldo made history as the first player to score 40 or more goals in 14 different years. This marks another remarkable milestone in the illustrious career of the Portuguese superstar.
These two goals raised CR7’s total professional career goals to 956, bringing him closer to the 1,000-goal milestone. Additionally, this achievement narrowed the gap by one goal to the current top scorer of the Saudi Pro League this season, who interestingly is his compatriot Joao Felix with 11 goals.
Furthermore, according to the international football statistics organization RSSSF, Ronnie Rooke held the record for most goals scored after age 30 with 493 goals. This seemingly untouchable record was officially matched by Ronaldo after his latest brace against Al Akhdoud.
While most players tend to decline after turning 30, Ronaldo has followed a completely opposite trajectory. Remarkably, he has scored more goals after 30 than before. Before his 30th birthday in February 2015, the former Real Madrid star had netted 463 goals in 718 matches, averaging a goal every 122 minutes.
Since then, Ronaldo has added 493 more goals, placing himself alongside Ronnie Rooke in football history. Other legends like Romario and Josef Bican also scored over 400 goals after 30, but Ronaldo has surpassed their achievements.
After the match, as usual, CR7 sent a brief message to his fans via his official X account, stating: “Hard work is the path to success”. Even in the twilight of his career, Ronaldo continues to break records and demonstrate an undying hunger for achievement.
