'Former Liverpool Star' Faces Possible Imprisonment

Veteran striker Andy Carroll is confronted with a prison sentence for breaching a restraining order and was arrested at the airport upon his return to the UK last April. According to British media, the ex-Newcastle and Liverpool forward is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday.

Due to legal restrictions, specific details of the case cannot be disclosed at this time. Police reports state that Carroll was detained in April, accused of violating the restraining order which allegedly occurred in March 2025.

Earlier, The Sun reported on a former star of the Premier League being arrested by police at the airport in front of many passengers. Authorities confirmed that the individual was Carroll. The incident took place after the striker landed at Stansted Airport on a flight from France to the UK.

A restraining order is a civil court measure intended to prevent a person from approaching or contacting another individual or a specific location. Violating such an order can lead to criminal charges and a prison sentence of up to 5 years, depending on the case's severity.

At the time of his arrest, Carroll was undergoing passport control at Stansted Airport. Security staff responded immediately upon suspicion and contacted the police to intervene. A witness to the event said: "He was questioned and then taken away, causing a commotion at the airport as many passengers witnessed the scene."

The 36-year-old star owns assets estimated at around £25 million. Last summer, he returned to England after leaving Bordeaux to join Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South. Throughout his career, Carroll earned a weekly wage of £80,000 and cost Liverpool a transfer fee of £35 million in 2011. Although highly rated, Carroll failed to meet expectations. He later transferred to West Ham, Reading, West Brom, and earned 9 caps for the England national team.
