Kalulu and Yildiz help Juventus narrowly overcome Pisa

Juventus maintained their strong performance by winning 2-0 away at Pisa in Serie A, despite encountering several difficulties.

Late goals from Pierre Kalulu and Kenan Yildiz secured a full three points for the "Old Lady" in a game where the home side repeatedly threatened Juventus’ goal.

Starting the match, Juventus carried high confidence after winning six of their last seven games across all competitions, including consecutive wins against Bologna and Roma. However, the visiting coach lacked his strongest squad as key players like Juan Cabal, Federico Gatti, Daniele Rugani, and Dusan Vlahovic were sidelined with injuries. Still, Teun Koopmeiners’ return from suspension helped Juventus’ midfield operate more smoothly.

Conversely, Pisa—who had only one victory this season—approached the match with fearless determination. The Tuscan team quickly created notable chances, including a moment when Matteo Tramoni nearly scored but missed the ball after a dangerous cross. Just before halftime, Pisa hit the crossbar with Stefano Moreo’s header from a corner, causing the visiting fans to hold their breath.

In the second half, the game remained closely contested. Pisa continued to be troublesome with their fast and energetic style. Tramoni once again nearly scored at the 60th minute when his header struck the post. Soon after, Juventus responded with Lloyd Kelly’s shot also hitting the woodwork, setting up a thrilling final stretch.

The breakthrough came when Juventus intensified their attacking pressure with substitutions. In the dying moments, from an attack on the left wing, the ball fell perfectly to Pierre Kalulu, who took advantage to score the opening goal, ending a stalemate lasting over 80 minutes.

As Pisa pushed forward to find an equalizer, Juventus capitalized on the space to finish the match. In stoppage time, Fabio Miretti dribbled skillfully before shooting; the rebound fell to Kenan Yildiz, who calmly tapped in to secure a 2-0 victory for the visitors.

This win helps Juventus stay close to the top group in Serie A, while demonstrating the resilience of a big club even without their strongest squad.
