Vietnam will face Malaysia in the third-place match of the AFF tournament.

The game heated up from the very beginning. In the 3rd minute, Phakphum Thiamtee put the home team Thailand ahead with a decisive shot. However, the Thai fans’ joy was short-lived as just one minute later, Muhammad Fitri leveled the score at 1-1 for Malaysia.

After an explosive start, the match became tightly contested. In the second half, Malaysia suddenly accelerated, catching Thailand off guard. Consecutive goals by Muhammad Idil (26th minute) and Muhammad Adam (28th minute) put the fierce Malaysian team ahead 3-1.

Pushed into a corner, the young "War Elephants" fought back fiercely in the final minutes. In the 36th minute, Chanthkrajang reduced the deficit to 2-3, reigniting hope for Thailand. The drama peaked at the 40th minute when Phakphum Thiamtee completed his brace, equalizing at 3-3, sparking an eruption of joy from the home crowd.

The excitement did not end there. In extra time, Thanakrit Ounsri gave Thailand a 4-3 lead in the 41st minute. Just when victory seemed assured for the Golden Kingdom team, Iqbal Hasim became Malaysia’s hero by scoring a crucial goal in the 48th minute to tie 4-4 and send the match to penalties.

In a nerve-wracking shootout, Thailand U19 futsal triumphed 8-7 to secure their place in the final against Indonesia. Meanwhile, Vietnam U19 futsal will face Malaysia U19 futsal in the contest for third place. Earlier, Vietnam U19 futsal was defeated 3-7 by Indonesia U19 futsal in the first semifinal, where the opponent clearly dominated the game compared to us.
