Vietnam Football Federation Annual Congress 2025, 9th Term

On the morning of December 26, 2025, at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) headquarters, the 2025 Annual Congress of the VFF, 9th term (2022-2026), took place with dignity and great success, highlighting a year of achievements for Vietnamese football.

In his opening speech, Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – President of the VFF, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the 9th term (2022-2026), sincerely thanked international football organizations, delegates, and honored guests, especially member organizations, for taking the time to attend the Congress.

Reviewing the 2025 activities, the Congress recognized many significant milestones for Vietnamese football despite numerous challenges. Notably, for the first time in history, all seven Vietnamese national teams at various levels qualified for the 2026 Asian Cup finals, spanning men’s football, women’s football, futsal, and youth teams. This achievement reflects the depth of development and the effectiveness of long-term investment strategies.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, the VFF President sincerely appreciated the contributions of clubs, training centers, and member organizations; he also acknowledged the close support and cooperation from FIFA, AFC, AFF, and partner football federations regarding the recent successes of the national teams and the overall growth of Vietnamese football.

The Congress approved important reports including: the 2025 work summary and 2026 task direction; the Executive Committee’s self-review; reports on the national teams’ professional work; reports on organizing professional football competitions; audited financial statements; the 2026 budget plan; and agreed to amend Article 69 of the VFF Charter.

Additionally, during the Congress, delegates agreed to accept three new members—Xuân Thiện Phú Thọ Club, Quảng Ninh Club, and Bắc Ninh Club; terminate membership of eight units including Yên Bái Provincial Football Federation, Bình Dương Provincial Football Federation, Quảng Nam Club, Hòa Bình Club, Phú Thọ Club, Đồng Nai Club, Tiền Giang Club, and Futsal Savinest Khánh Hòa Club; and remove Mr. Cao Tiến Đoan from the Executive Committee of the 9th term according to the Charter regulations.

The Congress decided to maintain the number of Executive Committee members for the 9th term at 16 and not to elect any additional members until the 10th term Congress.

The Congress entrusted the VFF Executive Committee to incorporate guidance from the leadership of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports along with feedback from the Congress to finalize documents, develop an action program, and implement the 2026 task plan, determined to successfully fulfill the resolutions of the 2025 Annual Congress of the VFF, 9th term (2022-2026).
