Being honored for the third time with Vietnam's most prestigious individual football award, the midfielder born in 1998 expressed his ambition to reach new milestones with Ninh Bình Club and the national team in 2026.

Surpassing strong contenders such as Nguyễn Đình Bắc, Nguyễn Quang Hải, and Nguyễn Tiến Linh, Nguyễn Hoàng Đức was officially announced as the winner of the men's Golden Ball category at the award ceremony on the evening of December 26th. This marks Hoàng Đức’s third time receiving this honor, previously winning in 2021 and 2023, thereby matching the achievements of legends Lê Huỳnh Đức and Lê Công Vinh, and coming just one short of Phạm Thành Lương’s record of four Golden Balls.

Regarding his approach to closing in on Phạm Thành Lương’s record, Hoàng Đức remained cautious: “This is a personal accolade that I deeply respect. Whether I can equal Thành Lương’s record is still a long story. In football, nothing can be predicted for sure.” He also expressed admiration for his predecessor: “On a personal level, Phạm Thành Lương is one of my idols in Vietnam.”

Besides that, the newly crowned 2025 Vietnamese Golden Ball winner praised the upcoming generation, especially Nguyễn Đình Bắc: “Đình Bắc is a very promising young player. This year, he and the Vietnam U22 team performed excellently at the Southeast Asian U23 Championship and SEA Games 33.
