Spanish media: Real Madrid values Vinícius at 100 million euros and plans to sign Vitinha or Haaland

This season, Real Madrid is 4 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and has lost to Liverpool and Manchester City in the Champions League, confronting a possible empty trophy cabinet. The club's leadership is keen on bolstering the team to create a new Galácticos era. The three positions requiring reinforcement are a creative midfielder, a center forward, and a central defender.

According to the latest report from Spanish outlet Cadena SER, contract renewal talks between Real Madrid and Vinícius have reached an impasse. The player's contract runs until summer 2027, making next summer the optimal time for Real Madrid to sell him. If no renewal agreement is reached, the club will not allow Vinícius to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires. Real Madrid has set a price of 100 million euros for Vinícius, while his market value stands at 150 million euros.

The same Spanish media also revealed that Real Madrid plans a "100 million euro man" transfer strategy, using the funds from selling Vinícius to acquire a new star worth 100 million euros. There are currently two candidates: the first is to replace Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić with a new midfield leader, targeting Paris Saint-Germain’s triple crown-winning key midfielder Vitinha, valued at 110 million euros. Vitinha is considered PSG’s non-transferable asset with a contract until 2030, but there is a private agreement allowing his release if an offer of 100 million euros is made and the player wishes to leave. Vitinha has won six titles with PSG, enjoys a comfortable life there, has a great relationship with coach Enrique, and is a tactical cornerstone of the team, giving him no reason to depart.

The second option is to sign a true striker, allowing Mbappé to return to the left-wing position. The target is Erling Haaland, valued at 200 million euros, tied as the highest-valued player in football. This is Florentino Pérez’s ultimate goal for the forward line. However, Haaland earns a weekly salary of £525,000 at Manchester City—the highest in the Premier League—with a contract lasting until 2034. He has an excellent rapport with coach Pep Guardiola and has no reason to leave. Therefore, even if Real Madrid successfully sells Vinícius and gains substantial funds, it will be very challenging to sign either Vitinha or Haaland.
