VFF imposes heavy penalties on 5 Vietnamese players for negative conduct

On December 26, the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced strict disciplinary decisions regarding violations at the 2025/26 National U19 Football Championship.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has just issued a series of disciplinary rulings related to misconduct that occurred during the qualifying round of the 2025/26 National U19 Championship. This move clearly demonstrates VFF’s firm stance on addressing negative behavior, thereby safeguarding fairness, transparency, and the sustainable development of Vietnamese football, especially in youth tournaments.

According to the announced decisions, several players from the U19 Bê Tông 26 team were found to have played below their abilities, seriously affecting the professional quality of the tournament as well as the reputation of the VFF. The VFF Disciplinary Committee imposed penalties ranging from fines to suspension from matches, depending on the severity of the violations.

Meanwhile, Decisions No. 1245, 1246, and 1247 respectively penalized players Trần Triệu Anh Khoa, Đinh Duy Báo, and goalkeeper Nguyễn Công Thuận. These three players were fined 2,500,000 VND and suspended for the next 5 matches due to playing below their ability and negatively impacting the tournament.

According to the VFF, all individuals involved have the right to appeal to the Appeal Committee in accordance with current regulations. The above disciplinary decisions take effect from the date of signing.

The strict handling of violations at the National U19 Championship continues to demonstrate VFF’s determination to combat negativity, while sending a strong message about promoting honesty, fair play, and responsibility in competition, especially among young players – the future of Vietnamese football.
