The head coach of Thailand’s U16 futsal team remains somewhat unsatisfied even after the emphatic 5-1 win against Vietnam’s U16 futsal team.
Mr. Srivichit, the head coach of the men’s futsal team for Thailand’s U16 team, shared notable comments following the 5-1 win over Vietnam in the third round of the 2025 Southeast Asia U16 futsal championship. With a perfect 9 points from their first three matches, Thailand has officially secured a place in the final
“We executed the plan as intended. I commend the young players for their strong performance. They played with more ease, but it’s unfortunate that we still conceded one goal. The U16 Thai futsal team aimed to keep a clean sheet in this match. Vietnam is a strong team and I admire their fighting spirit.
Overall, I am satisfied. The issue is not just about securing a full 9 points, but also about the many chances that were slightly wasted. We must stay focused and improve. In the next match, Thailand will face Indonesia tomorrow.
First of all, Indonesia had more rest than us since they did not play today. A highlight is that Indonesia has excellent ball control. Even though we have reached the final, Thailand must still compete with maximum determination, aiming for the best possible result in this match,”shared the head coach of Thailand’s U16 futsal team.
Dan Bunrit Phetthiam, who scored twice in this match, stated: “I am very happy to have scored goals to help the team. Vietnam is a strong team and played with great determination. They kept moving continuously throughout the game. The next match against Indonesia will be tougher, but we gave our best to win.”
Thus, after 3 rounds, Vietnam’s U16 futsal team currently ranks third with 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss), 3 points behind Indonesia and 5 points behind Thailand. Therefore, even if Vietnam beats Brunei in the final round, it is very difficult for the U16 futsal Vietnam team to climb to second place and reach the final.
