At the 2025 Annual Congress, VFF reached consensus on a strong organizational restructure to promote sustainable growth for Vietnamese football in the future.
On the morning of December 26, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the 2025 Annual Congress of the 9th term (2022-2026) was successfully held. This event provided an important opportunity for members of the Vietnamese football family to review, comprehensively assess the results of activities in 2025; while also fostering a spirit of unity and responsibility, discussing and agreeing on directions and tasks for 2026, ensuring effective implementation of the goals for the 9th term.
Attending the Congress were representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. From international football organizations, representatives from FIFA, AFC, and AFF were present. On behalf of VFF were Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn, VFF President; Mr. Trần Duy Ly, former Acting President of VFF; Vice Presidents, Standing Committee Members, Executive Committee members; leaders of functional departments, the National Coaches Council; representatives of member organizations, the General Secretariat, and units under VFF.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn, VFF President, on behalf of the 9th Executive Committee (2022-2026), sincerely thanked international football organizations, delegates, and distinguished guests, especially member organizations for taking the time to attend the Congress.
The Congress also agreed to terminate the membership status of 8 units including: Yen Bai Provincial Football Federation, Binh Duong Provincial Football Federation, Quang Nam Club, Hoa Binh Club, Phu Tho Club, Dong Nai Club, Tien Giang Club, and Savinest Khanh Hoa Futsal Club; simultaneously admitting 3 new members which are Xuan Thien Phu Tho Club, Quang Ninh Club, and Bac Ninh Club.
The Congress passed important reports, including: a review of 2025 activities and the 2026 task plan; the Executive Committee’s self-assessment report; reports on the national teams’ professional work; reports on professional football competitions; audited financial statements; the 2026 budget plan; and agreed to amend and supplement Article 69 of the VFF Charter.
Delegates unanimously assigned the VFF Executive Committee to incorporate guidance from the leadership of the Vietnam Sports Administration and feedback from the Congress to finalize documents, build action programs, and implement the 2026 task plan, with determination to successfully fulfill the 2025 Annual Congress Resolution of the 9th term (2022-2026).
