Vietnam U23 pillar dating shooting 'angel' Thanh Thảo

Center-back Phạm Lý Đức and female shooter Phí Thanh Thảo are believed to be in a relationship despite keeping it private.

After U22 Vietnam impressively won the gold medal at SEA Games 33, one of the hottest topics was the relationship between center-back Phạm Lý Đức and female shooter Phí Thanh Thảo.

Present at the Rajamangala stands, Thanh Thảo openly showed admiration by admitting she was impressed by number 3 (Lý Đức’s jersey). Moreover, the two frequently interacted on social media platforms, sparking public curiosity about whether they are romantically involved.

According to sources from VnExpress, Lý Đức and Thanh Thảo have been seeing each other for about three months but have chosen to keep their relationship private. During this time, the female shooter even boldly visited her boyfriend’s family in Tây Ninh.

Notably, at the end of 2024, the shooter born in 2004 had a romantic relationship with another teammate in the Vietnamese shooting team. However, this relationship lasted only about seven months. The lack of public announcement about their breakup, combined with rumors surrounding her relationship with Lý Đức, caused Thanh Thảo to face various troubles, including the spread of inaccurate information on social media regarding her past love life.

Thanh Thảo currently competes for the Army shooting team and holds the rank of First Lieutenant.

At SEA Games 31 held in Vietnam, Thanh Thảo made a strong impression by winning the gold medal in the 10m 3-position rifle event, along with a silver medal in the 10m women’s rifle event. At SEA Games 33, Phí Thanh Thảo and her teammates earned a silver medal in the 10m air rifle women’s team event. The shooter stated she will not stop at this achievement but will continue training with goals set on higher targets such as Olympic qualifiers and ASIAD 2026.

As for Lý Đức, the star born in 2003 had a breakthrough year in his career. Joining CAHN in July after making a mark with HAGL, although he didn’t play regularly, he was still called up for various levels of the Vietnamese national teams. This was evident in the U23 Southeast Asia Championship victory and most recently at SEA Games 33.

Currently, Lý Đức and his teammates have officially departed for Qatar to prepare for a friendly match against U23 Syria before officially starting their campaign at the 2026 U23 Asian Championship finals.
