VFF clearly explains the reason for sending the U21 team to participate in Asiad 2026.

The viewpoint of the Vietnam Football Federation’s Executive Committee about sending the U21 team to Asiad 2026 has triggered discussions.

A representative from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has clarified this issue. VFF Vice President Nguyen Xuan Vu said: "We need to send a formal letter to the Department of Sports and Physical Training (Cục TDTT) to seek approval for this decision. If the U21 team’s results at Asiad 2026 are unsatisfactory, it must still be accepted because this is the Department’s authority, not just the Federation’s.
