The Vietnam Women's National Team will hold a training camp in China to best prepare for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Finals.
After completing their duties at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam women's team needs to maintain stability in their technical skills, playing style, and team management to guarantee the best preparation for the continental competition.
According to the plan, in January 2026, the women's team will gather and train in China, with two friendly matches expected. Afterwards, the team will move to Australia — the host country of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Finals — for the second training phase, including one friendly match before officially entering the tournament.
Given the limited preparation time, Coach Mai Đức Chung — an experienced figure with deep understanding of Vietnamese women's football and significant contributions over the years — is regarded by the Vietnam Football Federation as the most suitable person to continue leading the team during this critical period.
This decision was made based on a strong consensus between the Vietnam Football Federation and Coach Mai Đức Chung, stemming from the practical need for stability, continuity, and consistency in coaching, especially as the national women's team approaches the 2026 Asian Cup Finals scheduled for early March 2026 (performance in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup will be considered for Asian qualification to the 2027 Women's World Cup).
Head coach Mai Đức Chung expressed his honor in continuing to receive the trust of the Vietnam Football Federation and affirmed that he, along with the coaching staff and players, will fully focus on preparations and strive to perform at their highest level at the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Finals.
The Vietnam Football Federation believes that with coaching stability and thorough preparation, the Vietnam women's football team will continue to demonstrate unity, resilience, and ambition, thereby affirming the position of Vietnamese women's football on the continental stage.
