On the evening of December 25 (Vietnam time), Vietnam’s U19 futsal team played their second Group A match at the Southeast Asian Futsal Championship, facing the host nation Thailand’s U19 futsal team. Despite showing great resilience and taking the lead, the red-shirted team still had to accept a 1-2 defeat after a powerful comeback by their opponents in the second half.

Just 2 minutes into the game, Vietnam’s U19 futsal team stunned the home crowd when Đỗ Văn Thành capitalized on an opportunity with a precise finish, opening the scoring for the visitors. This early goal boosted the confidence of the Vietnamese squad, allowing them to play tightly in defense and maintain their 1-0 lead through the first half, denying Thailand any chance to score.

However, the momentum shifted quickly after the break. Only 2 minutes into the second half, Srithong Taban equalized for the hosts. A minute later, goalkeeper Watarin Kedngen unexpectedly pushed forward to join the attack and scored directly, putting Thailand ahead 2-1. During the remaining time, Vietnam’s U19 futsal team pushed forward aggressively but failed to break through the opponent’s defense, ultimately conceding a close defeat.
