Midfielder Viktor Lê shares his experience of winning the gold medal with U22 Vietnam at SEA Games 33 and highlights his objectives for the forthcoming Asian championship.
SEA Games 33 marked a memorable competition for the midfielder Viktor Lê as he became the first overseas Vietnamese player in history to earn a gold medal. Speaking on the program "Vietnam Spirit," the 2003-born player said: "The feeling is incredible after winning. Every time we achieve a title, the emotion is always special because it is the result of a long journey. We prepared thoroughly for over a month. Every stage was important. The whole team built confidence and was truly ready for the final. I am very proud that we secured the victory."
The Hong Linh Ha Tinh player also expressed gratitude to the fans who came to support the team:
"I want to thank all my friends, the supporters who came to the stadium, and those watching from home. That motivation helped me perform well and prove my abilities to the fans.
My spirit is always one of fighting. Every time I step on the field, I play for my country. I always give 200%, even 300% effort on the pitch. I came here with the sole goal of doing my best to help the team."
Regarding the goal at the upcoming AFC U23 Championship, Viktor Lê shared: "Right now, we are fully focused on the next tournament, the AFC U23 Championship. I hope the team can prepare well and replicate such an impressive result."
Currently, Viktor Lê is training with the U23 Vietnam team in Hanoi. The entire squad will depart for Qatar on December 26 to make the best preparations for the official competition.
