Several well-known Vietnamese football coaches have successfully finished the training and earned the AFC Pro certification.
This afternoon (24/12) in Hanoi, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held the closing ceremony for the Pro/AFC/VFF 2024/25 professional football coaching course – the highest-level coaching program within the AFC and VFF training system.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – Chairman of VFF; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – General Secretary of VFF; Ms. Đinh Thị Thu Trang – Deputy General Secretary of VFF. On the lecturers and experts side were Mr. Takeshi Ono – AFC Deputy Technical Director; Mr. Koshida Takeshi – VFF Technical Director; Mr. Ikeguchi Yutaka – Technical Supervision Advisor of VFF.
The Pro/AFC/VFF 2024/25 professional football coaching course included 18 participants who are coaches currently working in the V-League, National First Division, and national teams, featuring familiar names such as:
Vũ Hồng Việt, Nguyễn Việt Thắng, Phạm Thành Lương, Đinh Hồng Vinh, Bùi Đoàn Quang Huy, Văn Sỹ Sơn, Nguyễn Thành Công, Phạm Minh Đức, Phan Như Thuật, Lê Phước Tứ, Thạch Bảo Khanh, Huỳnh Quốc Anh, Trần Trọng Bình, Nguyễn Văn Đàn, Trần Tiến Đại, Đặng Văn Thành, Mauro Alexandre Tavares Jeronimo, and notably female coach Nguyễn Thị Mai Lan – a former national player currently leading the U14 women's national team at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
The course was conducted in four phases: phase 1 from July 17 to July 30, 2024 in Hanoi; phase 2 from July 1 to July 21, 2025 in Japan; phase 3 from August to December 2025 at clubs or centers where the coaches are employed; phase 4 from December 14 to December 24, 2025 in Hanoi.
Upon completion, participants who met all professional requirements and passed AFC standards further demonstrated VFF's commitment to training high-quality coaches to meet the sustainable development needs of Vietnamese football.
