Manchester United is set to tour Saudi Arabia in mid-February 2026 and could potentially meet Cristiano Ronaldo again during a friendly against Al Nassr, attracting worldwide interest.
The rescheduling of Premier League fixtures has created an opportunity for Manchester United to organize a mid-season tour to Saudi Arabia, aiming to compensate for lost revenue due to absence from European competitions this season.
According to The Times, the match between Manchester United and Everton, originally planned for mid-February, has been postponed to February 23, 2026, giving the “Red Devils” nearly two weeks between their games against West Ham (February 10) and Everton. This period is seen as a “golden” window for the club to arrange an international friendly, likely in the Middle East.
Sources reveal that MU is negotiating to hold a friendly in Saudi Arabia, with a squad featuring many first-team stars. However, this plan will only be finalized after Manchester United completes their FA Cup match against Brighton. If coach Rúben Amorim’s team advances, they must play the fourth round on February 14, which could alter the touring schedule.
Coach Amorim also expressed support for the idea: “We have to do it. Without a European competition spot, the club needs to find ways to recover revenue and maintain connections with fans worldwide. If given the chance, we are ready to play,” he said.
According to British media, AC Milan is a potential opponent for MU on this tour, as the Italian club is also absent from European competitions in the 2025–2026 season. Another notable possibility is a “reunion” match between MU and Al Nassr, the club of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. If it happens, this game would draw significant attention and generate considerable income for the club.
Previously, Ronaldo expressed regret witnessing his former team’s struggles: “I feel sad seeing MU in difficulty. This is a club I have always loved, but they need smart leaders to rebuild a foundation for the future,” CR7 shared.
Currently, Manchester United is focused on improving their form in the Premier League after a defeat to Aston Villa. The “Red Devils” will face Newcastle on December 26 before hosting Wolves at Old Trafford on December 30, but they will be without captain Bruno Fernandes, who is injured.
