Indonesian press is amazed as Vietnam breaks ground on the Trống Đồng stadium with record-breaking capacity, described as the largest globally.
Indonesian media, especially Superball.bolasport, describe Vietnam’s move as a “major shock” when officially starting construction of the Trống Đồng stadium with a seating capacity of up to 135,000. The newspaper emphasizes this as a historic event, elevating Vietnam to a completely new status on the global sports map.
Superball’s article asserts that this is not just a standard construction project but a “mega structure” with worldwide influence. Trống Đồng stadium is located within the Olympic sports urban area in Hanoi, funded by Vingroup with a huge budget, demonstrating Vietnam’s strong determination and ambition.
According to Indonesian media, once completed, Trống Đồng stadium will officially surpass all existing records to become the largest stadium in the world. Furthermore, it will feature the world’s largest retractable roof system, allowing sports events to be held year-round regardless of weather conditions.
Indonesian press is also impressed by the advanced technology integrated into the stadium, especially the modular grass system that can replace the entire field within 6 to 10 hours. Along with that is the design of four stands providing a 360-degree view, ensuring the best experience for fans.
Superball evaluates the project as meeting FIFA’s strict standards, featuring training fields, a VAR center, press and conference areas built to international standards. They believe Trống Đồng stadium is qualified to host major events like the Asian Games, Olympics or even the World Cup in the future.
Besides the amazement, Indonesian media also note the wave of excitement among Southeast Asian fans. Many comments express admiration and claim that Vietnamese football deserves a “super symbol” like the world’s largest stadium currently under construction.
