
Earlier, with a 2-1 victory in the final against U13 Kawasaki Frontale Todoroki, the U13 Becamex Hồ Chí Minh City FC team convincingly claimed the championship. The host team finished the tournament undefeated in five matches, demonstrating consistent performance and outstanding technical quality.
The organizers presented the second prize to Kawasaki Frontale Todoroki and the third prize to Kawasaki Frontale Ikuta.
Additionally, the organizers gave out individual and team awards. The best goalkeeper title was awarded to Nguyễn Văn Quân (Becamex Hồ Chí Minh City FC). The top scorer was Vũ Ngọc Duy (Becamex Hồ Chí Minh City FC) with 13 goals. The most valuable player of the tournament was Isora Aiba (Kawasaki Frontale Todoroki).
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Ono Masuo praised the success of the tournament, stating it not only serves as a valuable sports platform for young players but also helps enhance exchange, understanding, and friendship among youths from various countries, especially Japan, Vietnam, and Singapore. The Vietnam-Japan U13 International Youth Football Tournament continues to affirm its role as a meaningful event that helps discover and nurture young talents and promotes regional sports exchanges.
This year’s tournament was held from December 18th to 21st, featuring 12 teams: 5 from Japan, 1 from Singapore, and 6 from Vietnam. The teams were divided into groups and played round-robin matches, each consisting of two 25-minute halves, selecting the best teams to advance to the semifinals and final.
