Xuan Son scored twice right on Thai soil

Striker Xuan Son shone brilliantly in Thailand with a brace against Bangkok United, playing a key role in helping Nam Dinh secure a 4-1 victory in the ASEAN Club Championship.

On the evening of December 18 at Thammasat Stadium, Xuan Son delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a brace in the second half, greatly contributing to Nam Dinh's 4-1 win over Bangkok United in the group stage of the ASEAN Club Championship. Due to his impressive form, the striker was named Man of the Match.

After a balanced first half, Nam Dinh created a turning point in the 43rd minute when Lucas scored the opener. This goal boosted the Vietnamese team’s confidence in the second half, and that’s when Xuan Son began to shine.

In the 49th minute, following a fast run down the left wing by Percy Tau, Xuan Son smartly positioned himself to receive the ball and then executed a delicate finish, doubling Nam Dinh’s lead. This goal demonstrated the young striker’s sharp instincts and excellent timing.

Although the home team Bangkok United tried to fight back, they only managed a consolation goal in the 84th minute from a close-range header. But in stoppage time (90+6’), Xuan Son ignited the stadium once more by skillfully dribbling inside the box, evading defenders, and delivering a precise shot to seal Nam Dinh’s 4-1 victory.
