With Guangdong narrowly defeating Zhejiang, Shanxi capturing Ningbo, and Tongxi overcoming Shanghai, the latest CBA rankings have been released.

On December 17th Beijing time, the second round of the CBA regular season kicked off, with six games finishing last night. Fujian dominated Jiangsu 104-80 in a clash of weaker teams; Beijing Royal Fighters narrowly won against Tianjin 92-89; Tongxi held off Shanghai’s rally to win 105-97; Shanxi overcame the weak Ningbo 95-87; Shenzhen defeated Jilin 99-81; and in a highlight game, Zhejiang lost a close one to Guangdong 98-101. Consequently, the updated standings show Guangdong in fifth, Shenzhen sixth, and Tongxi seventh!

Fujian faced Jiangsu. Both teams are among the weaker sides, battling for their first win this round. The first quarter was evenly matched, ending tied at 23. Afterwards, Fujian took control, launching a fierce offensive assault on Jiangsu, scoring 36-22 and 25-16 in subsequent quarters to pull away significantly. Jiangsu’s poor scoring in the final quarter turned the game into garbage time, and Fujian ultimately won by a commanding margin!

Tongxi played against Shanghai. Tongxi’s shooting was hot in the first half, with Guo Haowen and Lavic erupting alternately, leading Tongxi to continuously bombard Shanghai and build a 17-point halftime lead. In the second half, Shanghai’s offense improved and they mounted a comeback, gradually closing the gap. However, their firepower was limited, and Tongxi successfully stifled their momentum, eventually securing a hard-fought victory!

Shanxi matched up with Ningbo. Facing the weak Ningbo team, Shanxi unleashed full firepower in the first half, steadily extending the lead with unstoppable momentum, pushing the gap beyond 20 points. However, Ningbo came back strong in the second half, counterattacking and cutting into the deficit significantly. Still, Shanxi’s large lead was too much to overcome, and they steadily held on to claim the win!

Zhejiang took on Guangdong. The two strong teams battled fiercely in a marquee matchup. In the first quarter, both sides exchanged blows intensely, with Zhejiang holding a 3-point lead. In the second quarter, Guangdong’s balanced attack surged, outscoring Zhejiang by 8 points to take the lead. After halftime, Guangdong maintained a slim advantage, with Zhejiang closely chasing. The suspense lasted until the very end, but Guangdong’s superior skills and the standout performances of their three stars helped them clinch the game in a flash, narrowly defeating Zhejiang and earning their second consecutive win!
