The future of coach Ruben Amorim at MU has become a hot topic in the Premier League, as the new leadership under INEOS is reportedly ready to take strong measures to rebuild the team.
According to various sources from the British media, the Portuguese tactician might not continue with Manchester United next season if there is no significant improvement in the situation.
Recently, MU once again disappointed by allowing AFC Bournemouth to draw 4-4 at Old Trafford, missing the chance to close in on the Champions League qualification spots. However, this match also showed some rare positive signs, with the Red Devils’ attack performing at its best since Ruben Amorim took charge. Tactical adjustments and a new approach helped MU’s forwards better showcase their abilities.
Nevertheless, the biggest issue for Manchester United this season remains inconsistency. Like many other Premier League teams, MU has repeatedly dropped points at crucial moments. Still, compared to last season, Old Trafford’s side has shown some progress, especially in terms of playing style development and squad depth.
This improvement stems from a major overhaul in the transfer market. MU’s management actively offloaded numerous players who no longer fit the team’s plans to restructure the squad and balance finances. Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Andre Onana have all left Old Trafford, paving the way for a complete squad refresh.
On the other hand, Manchester United brought in notable new signings like Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha to revitalize the attack, while also signing goalkeeper Senne Lammens to be the new number one. Although Sesko still needs time to adapt, Mbeumo and Cunha have quickly made an impact, helping improve MU’s offensive efficiency recently.
Moreover, MU is expected to continue heavy spending in upcoming transfer windows. Their top priority is securing a high-quality defensive midfielder to find a long-term replacement for Casemiro. Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson are two players currently under close observation by Manchester United.
Additionally, the future of Bruno Fernandes remains a big question mark. The Portuguese midfielder previously revealed that MU’s management considered selling him last year, and if that happens, it could provide crucial funds for the club’s ongoing rebuild.
In this context, Ruben Amorim is still under immense pressure. Lingering negative impressions from last season combined with high expectations from INEOS have made the head coach position at MU more fragile than ever. If he cannot help Manchester United maintain stability and improve results during the remainder of the season, Amorim’s departure from Old Trafford will be only a matter of time.
